How old is Paisley?
She is almost two. She’ll be two in november.
So she is a Lab-Sharpei with a one-in-a-million face, right?
Yes! The big square face.
Do people ask you what she is?
Every time!
How old was she when she started coming to day camp?
We adopted her from Tennessee; she was 5 months old. I remember classes were on Monday and then we picked her up on a Saturday, so I actually came to my first puppy class before we even got her. We did the Basic Obedience class, and then the next class, then agility--she loved that--and we’ve started taking her to day camp one day a week.
And what does she get up to outside of camp?
My partner and I are financial advisors and we have our own office, so she comes to work--we say she works part time. She works four days a week! And she’s actually really great for the clients, they really love her, and we talk about money, and people are so stressed about it but they pet her the whole time and it helps. Its really cool.
Any sweet stories or favorite Paisley moments?
I think that one of our favorite example of her at work is, so this woman came in, first time in our office, she was so nervous. We have a couch--it kinda looks like a therapy room couch--and paisley hopped up onto the couch next to her. The woman was petting her and paisley fell asleep so the woman stopped petting her--of course Paisley woke up to say “Hello! Keep going!” It was cute.
What would you say is the thing you love most about having a dog in general?
I think that she really, she just literally brings happiness into the room wherever she goes. Coming here, for me its obvious you guys like her even though you know, you don’t have to like her as much as you do! At work obviously she helps people, at home, people who havent met her, theyre just drawn to her. I think she just brings happiness and thats pretty cool.

What is your favorite thing about day camp?
I just love that she, one thing that i know from talking with all you guys is that she does such a good job playing with other dogs, and I feel like thats so good for her to have a variety--we have a next door neighbor who is a mastiff. She’s just a clumsy puppy and she’s just kinda crazy, but so Paisley comes here and learns good dog behavior and how to play with other dogs. So when we see other ones out on walks or whatever, shes not, she acts appropriately. And besides all that it happily tires her out. And she’s so excited when we pull in the drive-way so that makes me think she loves it here.
All good things!
The other thing to know is she has a facebook page--Paisley Jane. So people are welcome to follow her!
Awesome! Well thanks so much for talking with me.
