About Your Trainer and the It’s PAWSible!
Approach…
Beth Ostrowski-Parks is a Certified Professional
Dog Trainer, a member of the Association of Pet
Dog Trainers (APDT), a volunteer at two shelters
and the Humane Society, and she is Founder and
President of It’s PAWSible! Dog Training Center
and Dog Day Camp. She has appeared on
television, radio and in numerous articles.
But the best part is watching Beth in action
with a dog – any dog -- either in person or on
the It’s PAWSible! Dog Training DVD.
Beth loves dogs, and she is passionate about
dogs and their owners having a harmonious and
enjoyable relationship. She believes any dog can
be trained regardless of age, breed or history.
Take Makana for example. Makana is Beth’s elder
Doberman. Fifteen months old when Beth rescued
him, he had had a bad start with his previous
owner. He was over-stimulated, and he reacted to
everything – dogs, cats, children, bicycles. He
had no social skills and no self control. Since
he was a Doberman, training and socialization
was a must.
Beth trained Makana using her gentle, effective
approach. She didn’t know it at the time, but
she was creating the best possible testimonial
for her methods. She transformed Makana from an
anxious and aggressive dog into a model
demonstration dog, an agility champion, a
therapy dog, and her best friend.
As a seasoned rescuer and trainer of retired
(and abused) racing Greyhounds, Beth learned
long ago that even the toughest problems can be
improved with sound, positive, and consistent
training.
Beth Ostrowski-Parks has taught thousands of
people to train their dogs. She has helped dogs

According to Beth, positive reinforcement is not

more effective. Punishing a dog for something he

relaxed, be better able to listen and will be

Teaching basic
obedience to your puppy or dog is more than just
teaching him to sit, stay and come when called. If
done correctly, teaching dog obedience also helps form
a healthy bond between you and your dog. When you

About Your Trainer:
I am 47 years old and I became interested in dog
training in 1993. I went to school and became
a Certified Professional Dog Trainer in 1994.
Since then I have attended countless seminars and
worked with some of the best dog trainers in the
country. I volunteer my time at area shelters to
help train new staff and train dogs who are
looking for that forever home. I have an enormous
amount of experience working with rescued dogs and
have adopted many of my own dogs from people who
no longer wanted to keep their dog. I was also
involved in Greyhound Adoption for years before I
started my dog
training business. I have a strong passion for
what I do.

My hobby is, of course, dog related. I compete in
dog agility competition all over New England with
my three dogs, Makana, Treasure and Phlip.
Although this can be intense at times, it is my
time to live in the present with my dogs. I just
love my dogs and love to spend time with them.

What is the
training
method?
We use positive reinforcement for our
training methods. First we teach people how to
lure their dog with food into the position we are
working on. This also teaches the dog and human a
hand signal for each exercise. After, the exercise
is solidified, we teach people how to get rid of
the lure and then how to use the food as a reward
instead. There is a difference and you will learn
all about it in the
DVD.
