MAKANA
I rescued Makana when he was 1 year old. You can read more about him

Makana was born on August 8, 1995. For a 12 year old Doberman, he is doing very well. He is still really healthy, happy and handsome!
Makana earned his Excellent titles in AKC 3 times. Once when he was jumping his full jump height of 24" and then two more times when I re-entered him in the Preferred class where he could jump 4" lower than his regular jump height. He worked his way up again through Novice and Open and then right back in to Excellent again. He is now retired officially. He proved himself to be a wonderful agility dog and I still day dream about running him. He was fun to run—like a Cadillac!
Occassionally I will enter Makana in NADAC jumpers or CPE as he can jump 16” jumps. He still loves to go to the start line! He gets really excited when he can work again. In Makana’s years of agility trialing he has earned:
- His Excellent titles in Standard and Jumpers in the regular class once
- His Excellent titles in Standard and Jumpers in the Preferred class twice
- His Elite titles plus many extra legs in NADAC regular agility
- His Elite title plus many extra legs in NADAC jumpers
- His Open Gambler’s certificate
- His Elite Tunneler’s certificate
- His Novice Weavers certificate
- He has also earned his Therapy Dog International Title and his Canine Good Citizen Certificate twice.
Makana is my first agility dog and he taught me so much about agility and about living with a rescue dog.
